I-84 reopens in Eastern Oregon, expect winter travel conditions

--UPDATE--

The Oregon Department of Transportation announces the reopening of I-84 in Eastern Oregon. Expect winter travel conditions. ODOT reminds drivers to be patient, drive with caution, and chain up when required.

--Original Story--

I-84 remains closed eastbound and westbound between Exit 265 (5 miles east of La Grande) and Exit 304 in Baker City due to multiple spun-out trucks and severe winter conditions, according to recent new release.

I-84 eastbound is also closed at Exit 216 (6 miles east of Pendleton) due to winter weather and I-84 westbound is closed to trucks at Exit 374 in Ontario due to no safe truck parking available in Baker City.

OR 203 and OR 237 between La Grande and Baker City are not viable routes for interstate truck traffic. OR 245 and OR 204 or only open to local traffic.

Crews have been working through the night to clear away blocking vehicles and get the interstate open for traffic.

The Oregon Department of Transportation is hoping to have lanes open later this morning.
